Our premium pastured poultry are raised between the trees in our hazelnut orchard in open-air chicken tractors.  Every evening, rain or shine, we move the birds to fresh grass to keep them healthy without the need for artificial antibodies or hormones and to give them daily access to fresh clover, bugs and worms which supplement their diet of non-medicated, non-GMO grain from a local mill in Topeka, IN.  Their healthy diet and the sunshine they experience living outdoors produces delicious, nutrient-dense chicken that we and our customers look forward to enjoying with others around our family tables each year.
 
Our 8-pc Cutup Chicken is our attempt to make the goodness of our premium pastured poultry accessible to those who are not quite ready (yet) to tackle preparing a whole bird.  These birds are cut into 8 pieces then packaged together in a single vacuum sealed bag.  NOTE: they are not de-boned!  The 8 pieces are: 2 thighs, 2 wings, 2 drumsticks, the breast and the chicken back.
 
The average price of our 8-pc Cutup Chicken is $5.55 per lb plus $1.50 per bird for the additional processing, and we offer the option of selecting a Small (3.5-4.0 lb), Medium (4.0-4.5 lb), Large (4.5-5.0 lb) or XL (>5.0 lb) bird at checkout.  
 
NOTE: To keep pricing as simple as possible, we are charging a flat price for each size of bird that is based on the average weight of the birds in each weight class (e.g. the average weight of our Large 8-pc Cutups from the spring batch was 4.89 lb).
