Green Family Nut Farms intentionally experiments with growing different crops and raising a variety of livestock that hopefully complement our perennial hazelnut and chestnut enterprises without competing for the farm’s limited resources (e.g. labor, water, grass and compost).  Some experimental enterprises like pastured poultry and pressed oils then graduate to become standalone product segments while many serve a more limited, temporary or occasional purpose on the farm.  Current experiments include black raspberries, natural dog treats and garlic.  To read more about these and future experimental products like compost tea and inoculated biochar, click here.
